Alexis Waiss is a legal reporter for Bloomberg Industry Group. She has a journalism and mass communications degree from Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, in addition to a minor in social welfare.

Before graduating college in 2024, Alexis worked part-time as an equity reporter at The Arizona Republic, helped run the Asian American Journalists Association's ASU chapter, and was a managing editor for her university's student newspaper, The State Press. She wrote for the paper's politics desk for a year until she was promoted to assignment editor and senior reporter roles. Alexis has also covered Capitol Hill for Arizona PBS affiliate, Cronkite News, and the 2022 Arizona state election for fact-checking site, PolitiFact. She is a 2023 WHCA scholar and a 2022 Voices fellow for the Asian American Journalists Association.

Alexis aspires to continue reporting on how America's legal, financial, and political systems impact people's day-to-day lives. She also aims to shed light on unique, thought-provoking angles through feature writing and investigative reporting. Alexis's goals are to give a voice to underrepresented communities, grow her own voice, and make a mark on the world with the stories she shares.

Alexis is a California native, cat mom, hiker, bookworm, foodie, and a friend for anyone who needs one. She enjoys painting, eating carbs, listening to music, taking care of animals, watching superhero movies, and binging murder mystery shows.
